For this week’s edition of Motor Mountain USA, Nathan Adlen and Andre Smirnov are driving to the highest point in North Dakota.
The North Dakota mountain top is a point 1.3 miles north-west of Rhame, ND on the US highway 12. The elevation registers at 3,239 feet above sea level. However, this point was not as easy to find as you might expect. After all, the highest mountain in North Dakota is the White Butte at an elevation of 3,507 feet. Although, all the dirt roads around it are well under the 3,200 foot mark.
The Motor Mountain USA (#MMUSA or #MotorMountainUSA) epic road trip is about the adventure and learning the mountain tops across the United States.
Motor Mountain USA is a celebration of all things American and the road less traveled. Nathan, Roman, Andre and Emme are driving a 2015 Jeep Rubicon Wrangler Hard Rock across the country to visit the 50 highest drivable mountain tops in all 50 states. Along the way they will visit locations off the beaten path and the American attractions that make the United States one of the world’s top tourist destinations.
This trip is also about involving you in the adventure. TFLcar has commissioned 50 commemorative silver belt buckles, one for each state. We will leave a belt buckle somewhere in the state and will tell you the coordinates, so that you can find it. The first person to find it, keeps it. The only requirement is – you need to send us a picture of you with the belt buckle.
