It seems like only last week Mercedes-Benz unveiled the thoroughly updated 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class lineup. Now, the next generation of the car is undergoing testing around the world. This time, the next E-Class was caught high altitude testing in Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
The thin disguise hides much of the detail, but the Mercedes family sedan resemblance is there. The overall shape falls inline with the recently released S-class and the C-class sedans. The prototype is showing twin exhaust tips in the back, so the turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines will likely remain. However, expect hybrid and plug-in variants to proliferate.
Mercedes-Benz will also likely push the autonomous driving technologies even further.
