Are you bored with your Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51? Chevy has an answer with a selection of what they call “flow-down” parts from the latest Z06. The company made an announcement at this year’s SEMA show that they are offering Corvette Z06 components to be installed on model years 2014 or later Stingray models as direct replacements for original Stingray parts. The Z06 parts will improve aerodynamics, braking, cooling, and handling. Here is the list of Z06 components you can choose from. Keep in mind, none of these upgrades increase the horsepower or torque of the 6.2-liter V8. However, all this turns the Z51 into a sharper track weapon.

  • Z06 Level 3 Aero Package
  • Z06 600-Watt Radiator Fan
  • Secondary Radiator Kit
  • Z06 Grille Kit
  • Z06 Quarter Panel Vents
  • Z06 Rear Transmission Oil Cooler
  • Z06 Carbon Fiber Torque Tube and Prop Shaft Kit
  • Z06 Prop Shaft Assembly with High-Temp Couplers
  • Z06 Carbon Fiber Underbody Braces
  • Z06 Brake Kits (Iron Rotors) for Stingray with Z51
  • Stingray Z51 Brake Kit
  • Z06/Z51 Front Brake Cooling Kit
  • T1 Suspension (based on SCCA package)

Ron Fellows, who worked with Chevrolet Performance engineers, is a champion Corvette Racing Driver. According to Fellows, “The effect of the new, Z06-based parts on the Stingray’s track capability is dramatic. They take the Stingray’s already great stopping and cornering capabilities to yet another exciting level of stability and precision.”

In fact, Ron Fellows was able to shave nearly four seconds from the lap time around Spring Mountain racetrack in the Z06-infused Stingray over the base model.

Corvette Z06 Stingray Track Car & Performance Parts

The Fast Lane Car’s own Roman Mica recently had the opportunity to meet with Mark Dickens, director of Performance Variants, Parts and Motorsports at Spring Mountain raceway near Las Vegas, NV. Dickens said, “You can mix and match the parts to build your own ultimate Stingray track car – all with factory-engineered components customers can trust will fit and perform as expected.”

Roman had a chance to drive the base car and the one with all the upgrades at Spring Mountain.  Look for this video to be posted to TFLcar soon!

In the meantime, here is Roman going for the ultimate 0-60 MPH in a base Z51.
