X-Men Inspired 2017 Kia Sportage Created to Promote Apocalypse Movie [News]

Mystique X-Car 2017 Kia Sportage

As part of its ongoing collaboration with Twentieth Century Fox, Kia Motors announced that it will unveil a special, one-off Mystique-inspired Sportage crossover SUV at the 2016 Australian Open. The 2017 Kia Sportage, revealed earlier this year at the Frankfurt Auto Show, has been created to promote the new X-Men: Apocalypse film and Kia’s sponsorship of the Australian tennis championship.

Mystique has the ability psionically shift the atoms of her body to duplicate any humanoid, wearing any kind of clothing, and the 2017 Kia X-Car mimics the appearance and powers of the famous shape-shifter. Fans of the X-Men film franchise and Kia Motors are invited to watch the Kia X-Car shape-shift in a special on-line video starring Kia’s ‘superhuman’ global brand ambassador Rafael Nadal by visiting https://www.allaboutsportage.com/ from January 4, 2016.

The Sportage, driven by Rafael Nadal in his efforts to take on the X-Men’s arch-villain Apocalypse, transforms from its standard state, shapeshifting into custom-designed bodywork with special textured ‘tone-on-tone’ matte and gloss blue paint finish, racing wheels and tires along with red and yellow bodywork highlights.

After its debut at the Australian Open, Kia has plans to show the Mystique-inspired Sportage at various international motor shows and fan events before the film’s premier in May. The Kia X-Car is the Korean company’s second project car in collaboration with Fox. At the 2015 Australian Open, Kia revealed the Wolverine-inspired Sorento.

Director Bryan Singer returns with X-Men: Apocalypse in theaters May 27, 2016.
