The Toyota Camry picked up where it left off in 2015, leading midsize sedan sales in January over the Nissan Altima and the Honda Accord.

The Camry’s sales were nearly flat over January 2015, while both the Altima and the Accord saw declines. The Altima had a 16 percent drop over last year, but its sales were still strong enough to stay ahead of the Accord.

Ford’s Fusion had a strong month and nearly had enough sales to beat out the Accord. The Hyundai Sonata and the new Chevy Malibu were strong out of the gate with more than 20 percent increases for both vehicles.

The Subaru Legacy also had a strong month with a 15 percent increase. The Subie’s standard all wheel drive undoubtedly is an asset during the winter months.

Further down the list, the Chrysler 200 took a precipitous 63-percent drop from last year. Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne recently said that because of poor sales, the 200, along with the Dodge Dart, won’t get replaced when its model cycle is up.

The underrated Mazda 6 also took a hit with a nearly 32 percent drop over January 2015. The 6 is one of the strongest and one of the best-looking competitors in the market, but Mazda’s small marketing and advertising budget keeps if off of most people’s shopping lists.
