Well folks, here it is in the flesh: the monstrous Jeep Trailcat concept from the 2016 Jeep Easter Safari in Moab, UT. Each year, Jeep and Mopar bring amazing vehicles to Utah to demonstrate what can be done with the right combination of imagination, engineering, and testosterone. This one takes the cake, however. The 707-hp Trailcat is powered by the same 6.2L supercharged HEMI V8 that’s found in the Hellcat. To make room for the engine, the concept vehicle has a wheelbase that’s been stretched 12-inches over a standard two-door Wrangler. If that weren’t enough, the V8 is paired to a 6-speed manual. This is the point at which we’d normally talk about fuel economy… but we won’t even go there ‘cuz that is not what the Trailcat is about. Not even slightly.

To make the Trailcat standout from the crowd (as if it needed anything else), designers cropped the windshield by two inches to give it a sleek profile and put it on 39.5-inch BF-Goodrich Krawler T/A KX tires riding on 17-inch beadlock wheels. It also has Dana 60 axles (front and rear) and Fox shocks. Rounding out the exterior design elements are “Trailcat” decals on the front quarter panels, a shifter ball with an embossed Hellcat logo, power-dome vented hood, satin black grille, LED headlamps and foglamps, rock rails, and seats from a Dodge Viper with accent stitching.
