The Honda Accord is about to get sportier.

The Japanese carmaker is introducing the Sport Special Edition sedan to its Accord lineup for 2017, which goes on sale Monday. Honda announced the 2017 Accord lineup recently, detailing the new changes seen to its popular-selling vehicle.

The Sport sedan will have a 2.4 liter, four-cylinder engine. Fuel economy will be 23 mpg city, 32 highway and 26 combined, information from Honda indicated. MSRP for the Sport sedan will start at $24,415.

The base Accord LX sedan starts at $22,355 while the base Accord LX-S coupe starts at $24,025.

The Sport comes equipped with heated leather seats and a “Special Edition” badge.

“Accord continues to set the bar in its class with customers making it the top retail selling car in America for three years running,” said Jeff Conrad, vice president Honda division in a news release on Honda’s website. “We’re proud to offer an expanded lineup with the new Sport Special Edition and the 2017 Accord Hybrid as we continue to advance Accord’s position as a true benchmark in its class, offering an unbeatable combination of style, efficiency, fun-to-drive performance and connectivity in the midsize sedan segment.”

Honda also retooled the hybrid version, giving it a new version of the car company’s two-motor hybrid powertrain technology.

Other features in the new Accord will be the expanded LED exterior lighting from the 2016 model, Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatibility, heated rear seats and rear parking sensors. The Accord also can be equipped with Honda Sensing, which is the company’s suite of safety and driver-assist technologies.

The new Accord will come with either a 2.4 liter, four-cylinder engine or a 3.5 liter, V6 and will have several trim levels available that come with different options. Both the sedan and coupe will come equipped with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmissions.

For the sedan, the LX, Sport, Sport Special Edition and EX are available with a manual, while in the coupe, the LX-S, EX, and EX-L models are available with a manual transmission. The automatic in four-cylinder Accords is a CVT, while in the V6 it’s a six-speed.

Navigation and Honda Sensing are only available for two-pedal Accords, however.
