9 – Fisker Karma

Henrik Fisker started his own company in 2008 and designed the car above, the Karma. It was the world’s first premium electric car, and it had a powertrain similar to the Chevy Bolt – electric motors ran the car, but an on-board engine acted as a generator to recharge the batteries. His company failed, but the remnants of the car survive. Fisker himself, along with Bob Lutz, have taken out the hybrid trickery and replaced it with a GM V8. Karma Automotive, a Chinese company, is continuing the hybrid version. Why? The car is absolutely breathtaking, a fitting achievement from a guy who designed Aston-Martins.
