Infiniti’s Best Selling Vehicle is a Sedan, But Will it Stay That Way? Nathan Reviews the 2017 Infiniti Q50S to Find Out [Video]

It is no secret that the American car market has been trending in favor of the ever-popular crossover body style. However, for a number of manufacturers, it is the flagship sedan model that still outsells the trendy crossover. One such manufacturer is Infiniti.

Nathan has had the opportunity to spend some quality time with the 2017 Infiniti Q50S, which happens to be the Japanese automaker’s best-selling vehicle. In this time he attempted to answer one important question: Will the 2017 Infinity Q50S remain the best-selling vehicle in Infiniti’s lineup?

Certainly, Nathan seems to enjoy the 2017 Q50S. It has a 300 horsepower twin-turbo V6 that powers all four wheels, allowing the sport-sedan to hit 60 MPH in 5.66 seconds at a mile above sea-level. Additionally, Nathan seems quite impressed with the vehicle’s dynamics, even in some less-than-ideal road conditions.

Ultimately, this debate boils down to the issue of practicality. Many American families are in need of a vehicle with enough space to accommodate their kids, dogs, stuff, etc. so the crossover is an appealing choice. However, the Q50S is certainly not the most impractical car we have ever tested at TFL. As Nathan keenly points out, it actually has more legroom in the front seats than Infiniti’s crossover offering, the QX60, and a decent sized trunk. Plus, it ticks the fun-to-drive box, which not all crossovers can do. But does the 2017 Infiniti Q50S have what it takes to stay atop the sales leader board?
