Live! TFLtoday: Top 10 New Exotic Cars and Hot Hatches from the 2017 Geneva Motor Show [Video]

Mercedes-AMG GT Four-door EQ Power Concept

Geneva Motor Show is known for the exotics and hyper car debuts. It’s also a place where small manufacturers show off their cars, concepts, and ideas. The 2017 Geneva show is also where several hot hatches are being unveiled. Here is our Top 10 on the coolest new exotic cars and hot hatches from Geneva.

10. Mercedes-AMG GT Four-door EQ Power Concept

The AMG division of Mercedes is trying something new. It’s a great-looking performance four-door coupe concept, but it also introduces the “EQ Power” label. Many details are still unknown, but expect this AMG GT to be powered by electricity as well as gasoline. Will this concept go to production? We do not know this yet.

9. Pagani Huayra Roadster

If you know exotic cars, you know the Pagani Huayra. It’s a rolling piece of art that offers incredible performance, thanks to a 745 horsepower turbocharged V12. Pagani is rolling out the roadster version of the car in Geneva. This way you enjoy the limitless sky and better show off the interior. The Roadster will cost around $2.4 million, but rumor has it they are all already sold out.

8. Ford Fiesta ST

Switching gears to a much more affordable and fun hot hatch. The 2018 Ford Fiesta ST gets many updates, but it all revolves around the new 1.5L EcoBoost 3-cylinder engine that is capable of 200 horsepower. The small and powerful engine is also able to shut down one of its cylinders at light loads for higher efficiency. We are very excited to see the new Fiesta ST in the United States.

7. VW Arteon / Range Rover Velar

Why is the seventh spot on our list shared by two cars? We were arguing about it and could not decide, so they are both here. The Volkswagen Aerton is VW’s next version of the CC, and it is also the company’s most expensive passenger car in the current lineup. The Range Rover Velar is a stylish new entry into the lineup that slots above the Evoque and just below the Range Rover Sport.

6. Volvo XC60

Volvo is giving the XC60 a long-awaited redesign for the 2018 model year and brings it in-line the wonderful recent designs, such as the XC90, S90, V90, and V90 Cross Country. Expect the new XC60 to be loaded with the latest technology features and elegant design.

5. Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo

What is the Sport Turismo version of the Porsche Panamera? It’s basically an elegant station wagon version of the car. This is not how Porsche describes it, but the Panamera Sport Turismo is the latest Porsche that is functional, elegant, and fast. Expect several power plants under the hood ranging from 330 to 550 horsepower.

4. McLaren 720S

McLaren continue to push the performance exotic car envelope with the new 720S. You may have already guessed that the car produces 720 horsepower. It has the functional styling that we have come to expect from McLaren, but the performance is ever so high.

3. Lamborghini Huracan Performante

Can the Huracan be more powerful or faster around a racetrack, while also being street legal? The answer, of course, is yes. The car is the Huracan Performante. It has a large rear wing and (according to Lamborghini) the fastest Nurburgring lap time for a street car.

2. Ferrari 812 Superfast

Ferrari will not be outdone in Geneva this year. The company is showing off the most powerful (789 horsepower), and fastest (211 mph top speed) front/mid-engined Berlinetta in history. Enough said.

1. Honda Civic Type R

Geneva is loaded is super-expensive hyper exotic cars, but the Civic Type R may be the most popular new debut at the show. The Type R is finally coming to the United States, and we could not be more excited.

Bonus: Toyota Yaris Hot Hatch

A Toyota Yaris with over 207 horsepower? Yep! This is a classic hot hatch recipe: take a small, light-weight, economy car and shoehorn a power engine into it. The result is a high-performance little hatch that is also meant to draw parallels to WRC.
