Honda to Debut All-New 2018 Accord on July 14 [News]

The Accord Gets An Attitude

On June 19, 2017 Honda released a concept sketch of the all-new 2018 Accord. With the drawing, which shows a much more aggressive front end for the Accord, came an announcement that Honda will be revealing the vehicle live on YouTube from Detroit on July 14, 2017 at 11:00 AM EDT.

Honda says this 10th generation 2018 Accord will be, “the most fun-to-drive, premium and dramatically styled Accord ever.” The Accord leads the midsize sedan segment in sales, and has done since 2010.

On June 9th Honda announced that they plan on selling three different powertrain options for this vehicle. First is a 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder that can be paired with either a CVT or a 6-speed manual. Also available is a 2.0L turbocharged four cylinder that can be paired with the same 6-speed manual as the 1.5L, or a 10-speed automatic transmission, an industry first in FWD vehicles. Finally, there is the Accord Hybrid, which will use Honda’s dual motor hybrid technology, not needing a conventional automatic transmission. Technical information, such as performance figures, on the different powertrain options will be announced at the reveal in Detroit.
