2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio: Hot or Not Review [Video]

After a short hiatus, Hot or Not is back and this week we have the 2017 Alfo Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. Alfa had been absent from the US market for some time before the return of the brand. First came the 8C and 4C coupes and now the brand has brought us its first sport sedan in years. We take the 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio on our test track to see if the latest Italian M3 competitor is hot or not.

Performance Figures

The Quadrifoglio comes with a 2.9L twin-turbocharged V6 that makes 505 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. While Ferrari will dispute this claim, the engine block from the Quadrifoglio looks to be, essentially, a Ferrari V8 with two cylinders lopped off. While we don’t know which two cylinders they took, we do know that those raging Italian horses are sent to the rear wheels with the help of an 8-speed automatic transmission. At altitude, this powertrain allowed the Giulia to hit 60 MPH in 4.46 seconds.

Upon review, these figures seem to make the Giulia a prime contender for the BMW M3. So, how does the car perform on our track? It was able to manage a time of 1:04:45. This puts it at roughly the same time as a Ford Focus RS or a BMW X6M. Both of these are very quick cars, and both have the advantage of AWD, so while it may not be the fastest thing around our track, it is certainly in good company.

Hot or Not

Now we get to the all important question, is the 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio hot or not? To find out, you’re going to have to watch the whole video.
