Special thanks to eagle-eyed TFL viewer Amber Weatherford for sending us these video clips and images. She managed to capture six prototype Jeeps testing at the Silver Lake Sand Dunes near Hart, MI. Most of the vehicles looked to be 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL prototypes. However, they also had a current Wrangler JK there for comparison. FCA brought out a new Ram prototype plus a Jeep Cherokee prototype to do testing as well.

In the video we can see the test vehicles do some old vs new drag races on the dunes. The Wrangler JLs sounded like they may have been utilizing a new 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Be sure to listen for yourself. Lastly, Amber let us know that the prototypes were all running on Goodyear Duratrac tires, rather than the BFG Mud/Terrains that we were expecting for the 2018 model.
