Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive (2014 – 2017)
Despite recent advances, we’re not quite in an electric car golden age just yet. As evidence of that, step forth the B-Class: A $41,000 electric car with a range of only 87 miles. It’s easy to see why the B-Class didn’t really catch on, and Mercedes-Benz agrees. As a result, the B-Class is not long for this world. A spokesperson made no mention of a replacement, instead emphasizing the brand’s focus on connectivity and autonomous driving for the cars of the future. Rather than replacing the B-Class, Mercedes will instead work on electrification across its entire range.
