Your Sneak Peek at Honda’s SEMA Booth! [Video]

SEMA 2017 is here! The event officially kicks off today and runs through November 3rd. As the show is set to begin, TFLcar is on hand in Las Vegas, NV to give you guys a sneak peek at the coolest cars and trucks at the show. This video showcases Honda’s SEMA offerings, including purpose-built racers and accessories you can buy for your own Honda. For those who don’t already know, SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) is an industry show that includes automakers and aftermarket part manufacturers. While people may look at the vehicles gathered around the Las Vegas Convention Center, the show itself is closed to the general public.

However, that doesn’t mean you won’t get to see the good stuff from inside the show! Highlights of Honda’s SEMA presence includes:

  • Accessories for the Civic Type R, Civic Si and Fit
    • Includes the availability of the 306 horsepower Type R crate engine. The K20C1 engine is now available to U.S. grassroots and professional racers for verified, closed-course racing applications.
    • Honda will sell the crate engine to racers through the HPD Honda Racing Line program for $6,519,87, excluding shipping.
    • Other accessories include the Civic Type R Red Carbon Kit, as well as the HFP Series kit for the Civic Si and the Fit
  • THR-W Road Racing Endurance Type-R
    • This Civic Type R will be raced by Team Honda Research West, the west coast arm of Honda’s grassroots road racing team founded in 1996. The vehicle’s first test will be coming up this December, when two Civic Type Rs will race at the National Auto Sport Association’s “25 Hours of Thunderhill”.
  • Civic Coupe GRC racer
    • Honda’s Red Bull Global Rallycross Civic Coupe is on display at Honda’s SEMA exhibit, making more than 600 horsepower and sprinting to 60 in less than 2 seconds.
  • Acura ARX-05 DPI Daytona Prototype
    • the ARX-05 marks the Acura brand’s return to prototype racing with partner Team Penske, which will race two Daytona Prototypes in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2018.
  • Baja 1000 50th Anniversary Honda Ridgeline race truck
    • This Baja Ridgeline is making a stop at SEMA before pursuing its third consecutive Baja 1000 class win since its debut in 2015.
  • Civic Si Pirelli World Challenge car
    • The PWC Civic SI was built from teh Civic Si white body that was introduced at the 2016 SEMA show. The two-car team that raced in the challenge took first place finishes in the TCA class in 2017.
  • Formula 3 racing car (powered by the Civic Type R engine)
    • Debuting two weeks ago at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin Texas, this F3 car is powered by a 240-270 horsepower (depending on SCCA regulations) HPD version of the Civic Type R’s K20C1 engine.
  • Racing motorcycles
    • The Honda Powersports lineup is on display, featuring the following vehicles:

      • 2017 CBR1000RR SP
      • TeamH35 2017 CBR600 RR
      • Broaster Chicken Honda/Roadrace Factory CBR 1000 RR SP2
      • 2014 Honda Grom – Team 23V-B Endurance Racer
  • NSX GT3
    • Just finishing its inaugural racing season, the NSX GT3 took four podiums and three victories. The NSX GT3 is now for sale globally to racing teams, and the GT3 is built alongside the production NSX at the Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio.
  • Pikes Peak Acura TLX A-Spec
    • This car made its debut in 2017, winning the Exhibition Class at Pikes Peak Hill Climb with a time of 11:03.655. The TLX A-Spec was specifically tuned for the hill climb with custom engine software and powertrain components pulled from the TLX GT race program.
  • ScienceofSpeed Dream Project NSX
    • Acura has collaborated with ScienceofSpeed to create an aftermarket interpretation of the ultimate NSX. The “Dream Project” NSX features 610 horsepower and 507 lb.-ft. of torque, and a more aggressive stance due to the ScienceofSpeed lowering kit and wider Advan GT forged wheels.
