It’s Called What Now? Blizzard Bound in A “Well-Used” Ford Fusion Rental [Video Review]

Welcome to “4 Dudes in a Midsize Sedan”, where we road test a Ford Fusion rental in a bid to beat a Chicago blizzard

Almost all of us have encountered this dilemma at one point or another. Fly or drive? Depending on the circumstances, that may be an easy question to answer. Throw a massive snowstorm into the mix however…and things get a bit more tricky. That’s what happened to the TFL team at this year’s Chicago Auto Show.

We made it to press days, just before the show opened to the public. After a huge showing at Detroit, it seemed most automakers toned it down when it came to Chicago this year. When some of the biggest news is a “Desert Air Intake” on the new Tacoma TRD Pro, it’s not exactly an earth-shattering event. However, a lot of you also enjoyed the limited edition Polaris Slingshot debut – complete with a Slingshade roof! When all that was said and done, though, a storm was brewing. A blizzard that threatened to cancel the TFL team’s flights home rolled into the Windy City.

So what do you do? Do you stick it out and risk getting stranded for two or three days, or do you high-tail it out of there? The guys decided to make the most of it, reviewing a Ford Fusion rental car for an overnight road trip back to Colorado. However, when it was time to set off, this particular Fusion had a few, um, “issues”. What was it like for four big dudes driving 14 hours and 1,000-miles in a used and abused Fusion? Watch the video above to find out!
