Ford’s VP of Product Development Raj Nair is out following allegations of ‘inappropriate behavior’

Earlier today, Ford announced the departure of Raj Nair, who was responsible for Ford’s North American business operations, following misconduct allegations. He’s the company’s highest ranking member to be dismissed in light of greater scrutiny around corporate workplace affairs.

His departure seems to be a result of an anonymous tip Ford’s leadership team received within the past few weeks. He was fired as the leadership team followed up on the allegations. He stated, “I sincerely regret that there have been instances where I have not exhibited leadership behaviors consistent with the principles that the Company and I have always espoused. I continue to have the utmost faith in the people of Ford Motor Company and wish them continued success in the future.”

Nair’s been in his most current role since June 1, 2017. Before that, he headed the global product development team and was Ford’s Chief Technical Officer.

CEO Jim Hackett condemned Mr. Nair’s actions. “Ford is deeply committed to providing and nurturing a safe and respectful culture and we expect our leaders to fully uphold these values”, he said. After careful review, the company decided to discharge Raj Nair with immediate effect.

Raj Nair has worked at Ford Motor Company since 1987. The company will announce his successor in the near future, according to their released statement. As it stands, his position currently remains vacant. Stay tuned to TFLcar.com for more updates.
