Toyota teased a mysterious silhouette for the upcoming Geneva Motor Show and just three words: “The Legend Returns”.

Its been 20 years since the iconic Supra disappeared from our shores. Enthusiasts have long awaited its replacement, and the closest we’ve gotten to a successor is the FT-1 concept below, unveiled in 2014. Since then, four years have passed with no sign of the next Supra. That, however, may be about to change.

Ahead of the Geneva Motor Show in March, Toyota’s teased what may be the next generation of the brand’s iconic sports car. They haven’t come out and said it just yet, but there are some fairly strong hints this may well be the car we’re looking for. Toyota released this picture of a dark silhouette to the public with just three words: “The Legend Returns.”

Toyota’s heralding this car as its “commitment to bring back to the market its most iconic sports car”. That’s about as close as you can get to saying “this is the new Supra” without actually saying it. The concept features the many of the same design cues as the FT-1 concept. The huge wing and the double-bubble roof, for a start. Toyota and BMW have been working on co-developing new models for awhile now. Last year, BMW’s end bore fruit in the form of the new Z4 roadster.

Now it’s Toyota’s turn. We’ll have to wait and see what’s up Toyota’s sleeve on March 6th. Stay tuned to TFLcar.com for more updates!
