This Tesla Surfboard Costs $1,500 – and It Sold Out in a Day

How much would you pay for the privilege of owning a Tesla surfboard?

It seems Tesla went ahead and got itself into the surf board game. The American Electric Vehicle manufacturer listed a surf board for sale on their brand merchandise page, and it sold out in a day.

Design & Construction

Tesla doesn’t actually build the board themselves, but they did design it. Lost Surfboards, who make many high-performance, high tech surf boards for competitive use, builds the board for Tesla.

The Tesla board in particular uses a 1.5 lb S-glass glass fiber core wrapped in 4oz carbon fiber to keep everything lightweight.

Pricing & Availability

Tesla priced the custom made-to-order surf board at $1,500. For that price you become one of just 200 people in the world with a surf board to match their Tesla. However, Tesla won’t send you the stabilizing fins for that price.

Unfortunately, Tesla sold out of them in a day, so if you want one, you’re going to have to buy it from one of the lucky 200. Production will take anywhere from 2-10 weeks.

Size & Utility

The board itself is 6’8″ long, which allows it to fit comfortably in a Tesla Model 3, Model S, or Model X, or so says Tesla.
