Audi just announced pricing for the 2019 RS 5 Sportback model.
Unlike the current RS 3 and RS 7 models, there hasn’t been a mid-range four-door RS 5 model. Until now, that is, with the introduction of the 2019 Audi RS 5 Sportback. We first covered the model back at the New York Auto Show, but now we actually have the price for all that performance: $75,195 and up, including destination charges.
What do you get for your money? As with the RS 5 Coupe, you get a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine. That powerplant fires 444 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels through Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system. The 2019 Audi RS 5 Sportback can hit 60 mph in 3.8 seconds – only a tenth of a second slower than the RS 5 Coupe. It comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the power can be distributed 40:60 between the front and rear axle. The top speed is limited to 155 mph, but you can raise that to 174 mph with the Dynamic Plus package.
Apart from the power, the 2019 Audi RS 5 also gives you a 7 millimeter drop against the S5 Sportback. That lower ride height comes courtesy of the car’s RS Sport suspension, and Dynamic Ride Control comes as an option.
The $75,195 price tag is higher than the 2018 RS 5 Coupe’s $69,900 sticker. However, you also get more standard equipment. Audi MMI Navigation Plus, Virtual Cockpit, direct tire-pressure monitoring and rear USB charge ports come standard on the Sportback model. Audi Connect & Prime Plus – a cloud-based driver assistance program, also comes standard.
The 2019 Audi RS 5 will hit dealers by the end of this year. Stay tuned to TFLcar.com for more updates! Subscribe to The Fast Lane Car and TFLnow for more news, views and real-world reviews.
