Porsche Rennsport Reunion VI: Two New Concepts Revealed at Porsche’s Home Meet

Both concepts pack over 500 horsepower

Porsche Rennsport is officially underway and we have already seen two new concept cars as a result. TFL will be there to bring you video coverage from the event. Before we can do that, here is a little preview of what these new concepts bring to the table.

911 Speedster Concept

The first concept is something that Porsche has done in the past. The 911 Speedster concept features a convertible top that has a unique cover, reminiscent of the old Porsche Speedster. It also happens to be packing a 500 horsepower naturally aspirated flat-six paired with a manual transmission. That’s a healthy amount of power, and it revs all the way up to 9,000 screaming RPMs.

935 Race Car

Based on a 911 GT2 RS platform, the 935 Race Car is a track-only monster to see a 75-unit production run. The body, for those with a keen eye for old Porsches, is reminiscent of the legendary Porsche 935/78. However, this one has 700 horsepower. It is not road legal, but it is also not designed for any specific homologation series. As such, it is intended to be used as a club race car, something for special track days.

That 700 horsepower figure is produced by a 3.8-liter flat-six-twin-turbo engine, which is pretty much identical to the engine from the 911 GT2 RS. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 7-speed PDK, dual clutch transmission.
