The 2019 Acura ILX underwent a major redesign as well as a price cut.
After redesigning the entry-level ILX sedan, Acura just announced pricing for the revamped model. Against the outgoing 2018 model, which starts at $29,095 (including a $995 destination charge), the 2019 Acura ILX starts at $26,895 – $2,200 less. The 2019 model will arrive in dealerships next week, on October 10. New sheet metal defines the facelifted ILX, as you’d expect. It gains new front and rear fascias to closely resemble the recently redesigned TLX and RLX.
While Acura slashed the price on the 2019 ILX, it also comes with more standard technology. The AcuraWatch suite of active and passive safety features – formerly a $1,300 option – now comes standard across the entire range, including the ILX. AcuraWatch includes Collision Mitigation Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist and Road Departure Mitigation. Acura also updated its dual-screen infotainment system to improve response time, and added support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
The Premium and Technology packages get an even larger price cut on the 2019 Acura ILX. Those trims come in up to $3,550 cheaper than before. Speccing an ILX with every package comes out at $32,545 for 2019, versus $36,095 before.
Mind you, you’re still getting the same powertrain as before. Under the hood lies a naturally-aspirated 2.4-liter engine. That sends 201 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. All 2019 Acura ILX models manage 24 City / 34 Highway / 28 Combined mpg, according to EPA ratings.
