Would You Pay $100,000 for a Camaro? 1,000 HP 2019 Yenko S/C Revealed

Four-figure horsepower sounds great, but would you pay a six-figure price tag?

New Jersey-based performance parts company Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) revealed more information about the 2019 Yenko S/C Camaro. Two important figures stand out right away. Number one, the Stage II Yenko Camaro will pack 1,000 horsepower. If that wasn’t jaw-dropping, then there’s number two: it will cost around $110,000.

Mechanical Upgrades

This package is based on the Camaro SS 1LE, but features a completely custom engine. That happens to be a 416 cu-in LT1 V8 with a lot of custom upgrades. These include: A forged steel crankshaft and H-beam rods, forged aluminum pistons, CNC ported cylinder heads, and fuel system upgrades. They didn’t stop there, though, also adding custom headers, high-flow catalytic converters, and custom stainless steal exhaust. And there’s a custom supercharger, to boot.

Aesthetic Changes

Visually, SVE made a few pronounced changes. There’s a set of custom 5-spoke wheels that wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, for better traction. There is also the carbon fiber hood with a rather large scoop and the rear decklid spoiler. In case you still mistook this for a standard Camaro, there’s an unbelievable amount of Yenko badging. There are all of the badges and stripes you can see on the outside, plus branded floor mats, door sills, brake calipers, and embroidered headrests.

How do you get one?

You have to order the Yenko S/C Camaro through a GM dealer. Fortunately, that means you get a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty. The cost? Well that depends on which package you get. The not-so-extreme 835-horspeower version costs $46,995 while the 1000-horsepower model is $66,995 (on top of the price of the car itself). Given a Camaro SS 1LE starts at $44,995, you are looking at a total price over $110,000 for the 1,000 horsepower monster.

As is the case with any special edition, the production run will not be very big. SVE will make just 25 of each of the 835 horsepower and 1,000 horsepower models.
