The 2019 Hyundai Veloster N Starts Under $27,785 – And It’s Gunning For the GTI [News]

The Veloster N starts off $500 more than the VW GTI

2019 Hyundai Veloster N pricing announced

Yes, you can buy the 2019 Hyundai Veloster in red, as well as light blue.

Hyundai has officially announced pricing on it’s GTI-fighter, the 2019 Hyundai Veloster N. The standard model manages 250 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. That’s a healthy dose of extra power against the GTI’s 220 horses, and the N makes two more pound-feet of torque as well. However, Hyundai made this hot hatch dual more interesting with their Performance Package.

Check that $2,100 box when ordering your 2019 Hyundai Veloster N, and you get an extra 25 horsepower. You also get an electronically-controlled limited slip differential, variable exhaust system, 19-inch alloy wheels and larger brakes. Thankfully, all models come strictly with a six-speed manual transmission.

That sort of power and performance bits puts the Veloster N right between the GTI and hotter hatches like the Honda Civic Type R and Volkswagen Golf R. While it doesn’t perform on those levels, it isn’t nearly as expensive either. Could this be the new “want one” hot hatch? We’ll find out when we have one back in Colorado to test – hopefully soon.

The 2019 Hyundai Veloster N will go on sale in December. Stay tuned to TFLcar.com for more updates! In the meantime, check out our track review below:
