Want a 2020 Toyota Supra? Barrett-Jackson Will Be Your First Chance

Today, Toyota announced that they will auction off the first 2020 Toyota Supra at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, on Saturday, January 19, 2019. Plus, they gave us this teaser image to show off what the paint scheme will look like.

Yet another teaser of the new Supra

One of a Kind

This Supra, being the first one sold in the US, will have some unique touches. The VIN number reads 20201 at the end, indicating it is the first 2020 model year Supra. Toyota gave this auction-ready Supra some custom aesthetic touches to set it apart from the rest. This includes a matte grey paint scheme with red mirror caps, red leather interior, and matte black wheels to complete the unique look. Plus, there’s a carbon fiber badge on the interior marking it as the first 2020 Toyota Supra.

Toyota also said that the purchase of this Supra will include some ‘exclusive experiences’. Though, those will be announced closer to the auction date.

Why at an Auction?

Toyota plans to donate all proceeds from the sale to two charitable foundations, the American Heart Association and the Bob Woodruff Foundation. Those foundations support cardiac health and 9/11 veterans, respectively.

The car that Toyota is bringing to the auction is obviously not a production version of the 2020 Toyota Supra. Though, Toyota claims it will be representative of the actual production vehicle that will be delivered in the first half of 2019.

Of course, there is still a lot of information we do not know about the 2020 Toyota Supra. But, we will be in Detroit, covering the 2019 Detroit Auto Show.
