2019 Cadillac XT5 Sport Package Shows A Darker Side, But No Better Performance

2019 Cadillac XT5 Sport Package

At the 2019 Chicago Auto Show, Cadillac unveiled a new limited edition package for the 2019 Cadillac XT5. Introducing the 2019 Cadillac XT5 Sport Package. The name might have you think that this is a performance upgrade package for the XT5. However, the changes are more aesthetic than anything else. Here is what you get with the Sport Package, available on the Luxury and Premium Luxury trims:

Appearance Package

The most obvious change is the addition of a gloss black grille with a ‘Galvano’ (read: satin chrome) surround. Next to the grille is a set of LED headlights with signature lighting and cornering lamps. The tail-lamps receive a clear lense, as well. Move around the side and you will find side assist steps. Perhaps more noticeable are the 20-inch aluminum wheels, finished in technical gray.

The powerplant remains untouched in this package. You still get a 310 horsepower 3.6-liter V-6 with cylinder deactivation and stop/start technologies. Power is sent to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Interior changes

There are only a couple interior features to take note of. The first is a set of sport pedals. However, you also have a choice of two interior color options: Cirrus/Jet Black with Diamond Cut aluminum trim or Jet Black with Diamond Cut aluminum trim. Basically, black or a different black.

As far as standard features are concerned, the Sport Package models still get all the same standard features as the Luxury and Premium Luxury trims. This includes adaptive remote Start, a Bose eight-speaker audio system, leather heated front seats (heated and ventilated on Premium Luxury), an automatic heated steering wheel and a programmable power liftgate.

Pricing

How much does all of this cost? The 2019 Cadillac XT5 Sport Edition package is $2,995 on the Luxury trim and $1,995 on the Premium Luxury trim. Base MSRP for the Luxury trim is $49,490, bringing the total base cost for this package to $52,485.
