Toyota Reveals Supra TRD Performance Line Concept – Same Grunt, But More Carbon Fiber

Sadly, the 3.0-liter inline-six engine remains untouched.

With Toyota finally revealing the 2020 Supra in Detroit, we knew it was only a matter of time before TRD got their hands on it. Over the weekend, the company officially revealed a Supra TRD Performance Line Concept. At the 2019 Osaka Automesse, we now have a better idea of what a TRD-tweaked Supra would look like. While the car’s title may say “Performance Line”, TRD did not bump the performance of the Supra’s 3.0-liter inline-six engine.

What they did focus on with the Supra TRD Performance Line concept are the aerodynamics. You notice that right off the bat, thanks to that carbon fiber wing on the back. To that, TRD also integrated a front spoiler, side skirts, and some rear spats. Throw in the bespoke 19-inch forged wheels, and you at least have something that looks sportier than the standard Supra.

At the end of the day, it seems we’re looking at more of an appearance package than an out-and-out high performance model. It looks cool for the racer types, and parts of the Supra TRD Performance Line will likely end up in the catalog before long. from there, you can pick a la carte which parts you’d want to fit on your Supra. The parts are are carbon fiber, so odds are they won’t come cheap.

Toyota hasn’t announced any pricing on these parts, as a whole or by individual piece. Given the standard car runs in the $50,000-range, you’ll likely need to save a few thousand beyond that to kit it out like the Supra TRD Performance Line concept.
