2021 Ford Bronco – two-door prototype

This two-door prototype is a first close look at a short-wheelbase Ford Bronco platform. We have seen a longer wheelbase Ford prototype before, but this image from Australia is something new.

Big thanks to Jason Sacco in Australia for sending us these images.

We do not have many official details from Ford about the new Ford Bronco, but there are several reports from recent Ford dealership meetings that shed some light on a few details.

The unofficial information is that the new Bronco (that is based on a modified Ford Ranger platform) will be available in two-door and four-door configurations. The new Bronco is reported to have a manual transmission option and ride on 33-inch tall tires.

This two-door prototype was test alongside at least one camouflaged Ford Ranger truck. Is this an update to the Ranger Raptor, or simply an older prototype – we cannot tell for sure.

This latest prototype spy shot also shows a possibility that the new Bronco will be on sale in Australia (and potentially other countries). Of course, the simple fact that Ford is testing these vehicles in Australia does not point to their intent to sell them there. Jason reports that both the Bronco and new Ranger test vehicles were all left-hand drive, NOT right-hand drive as you would expect in Australia.
