2021 Mercedes-AMG GLE 63S: Simply Add More Power! 603 HP!

Want more power? No problem!

It may come as no surprise, but the new 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLE63 S packs more power, performance, and features into a midsize SUV. How much power? We are talking about 603 total horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque from a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that is also combined with a relatively small electric motor and a 9-speed automatic transmission.

This is a classic hot rod formula. Take a very powerful engine from a bigger vehicle, in this case a GLS63, and stuff into a smaller car. Then you can go like hell.

Mercedes-AMG says that this new family hauler can do a 0-60 MPH in about 3.7 seconds. This is also thanks to a 48-volt mild hybrid system that assists acceleration and make the overall driving experience even more smooth.

The GLE63 S joins several other high performance luxury SUVs at the show: the Audi RS Q8 and the Aston Martin DBX.

It goes on sale in the middle of 2020, and pricing and fuel economy estimates will not be revealed until closer to the on-sale date.
